Eulachon


Eulachon, or candlefish, marine smelt of inshore temperate waters or cold seas of the Northern Hemisphere. It has oily flesh and was used by American Indians to make torches. Length: 30cm. Family Osmeridae; species Thaleichthys pacificus.
