Osprey_-_Pandion_haliaetus_jt
Osprey
Ospreys occur throughout the world. The Scottish breeding population is close
to 100 pairs and is a conservation success story. The birds were once hunted to
extinction, and then recolonised from 1954 at Loch Garten. Despite their
recovery, every year over 10% of nests have their eggs illegally stolen.
Scanned from a postcard.
