Very Godzilla-like Animal is a mangrove monitor (varanus indicus), age and
gender unknown. I know 'Zilla is a female, because I recently found four
(infertile) eggs in her cage! I got her around April of 1993, when she
was about 16" long. She is now over two feet long, most of which is tail.
She is relatively friendly, and has never bitten me. Her claws, however,
are scary: she is quite able to draw blood just by walking over my
arm! I need to trim them again, but it is not an easy task. You can read
more about 'Zilla by viewing the (postscript) file, mangrove-article.ps.
If you cannot view postscript, send email to sef@cygnus.com, and I can
send you either an ascii version, or, if you prefer, the troff version.
