Striated Heron
Size: 43-50cm
Habitat: Found around Australia's coastline from Broome through the Top End down the East Coast to Southern NSW, It frequents magroves, swamps, tidal esturies and mudflats. Its diet is varied consisting of small aquatic creatures, insects, crustaceans and mud skippers.
Notes: Varied colours, Body blue-grey to Brown, legs yellow. Can have dark cap, Breeds Spring-Summer
