It is found in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.

I am doing research for a new book and would like to know what teh difference is between caryothraustes canadensis en polyogaster? I think the are the same birds.
