Captured from a WONDERFUL MULTIMEDIA CD-ROM title,
"Eyewitness Encyclopedia of Nature",
Dorling Kindersley Multimedia, 1995
THIS GIANT scavenger has one of the largest wingspans of all land birds - up to 10 feet (3m) in a fully grown adult. It soars high over the African savanna in search of animal remains and leftovers from other predators. Although graceful in the air, the marabou is an ungainly bird on the ground.
