The red panda's mask and ringed tail give it a superficial likeness to raccoons, and it was once included in the same family. The long whiskers indicate the nocturnal lifestyle of the red panda. Mainly vegetarian, it will occassionally eat insects, birds' eggs, carrion and other animal food. |
