Chestnut Teal
Size: 38-48cm
Habitat: Distributed South from the Tropics of Capricorn, this duck inhabits coastal swamplands, tidal mudflats and inland water courses. Diet consists of plant matter and insects.
Notes: Male: Green iridescent head with red eye, chestnut belly, wings brown with small white patch on underside. Female: Brown head and body, eyes red. Breeds Winter-Spring.
