This is a common weaver in the Kenyan Highlands, including Nairobi, though it has a wider distribution.
The male (shown here) is distinctive, the female much less so.
It usually nests in large colonies. This species is quite tame, and can often be seen coming to lodge bird feeders in appropriate areas.
