The kiang, also known as the Tibetan wild ass, is the largest species of wild ass, native to the Tibetan Plateau. They are characterized by their large size, reddish-brown coat in summer that transitions to dark brown in winter and white underparts. Kiangs are herbivorous, primarily grazing on grasses and sedges, and are typically found in herds. |
