The golden-whiskered barbet (Psilopogon chrysopogon) is a species of Asian barbet native to the western Malay Archipelago. The bird inhabits foremost forests up to 1,500 meters elevation and ranges from the Malay Peninsula to Sumatra and Borneo. The golden-whiskered barbet has a green plumage of various hues and a yellow moustache that extends to the ear canal on both sides of the black beak. Its throat is blue, and it has small blue and red spots on the head. The bird’s eyes are also surrounded by blue, and its forecrown is pale yellow with red patches on both sides of the beak. The golden-whiskered barbet spends most of the day in the forest canopy and forages mostly on figs and berries.
