Tufted ghost crab (Ocypode cursor)
The tufted ghost crab, Ocypode cursor, lives on sandy beaches in tropical and subtropical areas. It is the fastest runner of all crabs, moving sideways and keeping its body well above the sand. To avoid exhausting the muscles on one side, it will alternate the leading side. |
