HW_-_Aeshna_Dragonfly_jt
As one of the hawkers, the aeshna dragonfly patrols its territory constantly like a flying hawk. With a longer wingspan and longer, thinner body than the darters, hawkers can close in on their insect prey at speeds exceeding 18mph (30km/h).
From 'Hunters of the Wild' by Michael Bright subtitled 'hunting animals and their strategies'.
