"Come, fishy, fishy, fishy..."

This, by the way, is a pic which typically illustrates the problem of
the long lens: Under European light conditions you usually have to use
f/5.6 and below to get sufficiently short shutter times at 300 mm (1/250
of a second or less). At f/5.6 the layer of sharpness, even at a
distance of 15+ m, is just some inches deep. As a result, Daddy Cat's
nose is in focus, whereas its rear, just some feet away, already shows
signs of being out of focus. I am curious how my new Canon EOS 50 (my
first camera with automatic focusing) will deal with these situations.
