Brown-tailed mongoose (Salanoia unicolor)
The brown-tailed mongoose (Salanoia unicolor), or salano, is a small, brownish carnivorous mammal endemic to Madagascar's eastern rainforests. As part of the Eupleridae family, it measures 25–30 cm with a similarly coloured tail, featuring a slender body, rounded ears and a cryptic, arboreal-inclined nature. They are rare and threatened by habitat loss. |
