Brazilian Rainbow boa (Epicrates c. cenchria)
This exceptionally beautiful snake is native to the Brazilian and adjacent areas of South America. It's easy to see how it got it's name Rainbow Boa. The scales of this and other related snakes posess a greater ability to refract light within the scale, giving off a rainbow "prism" effect. |
