The two-tailed pasha or foxy emperor (Charaxes jasius) is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is the only European species of the genus Charaxes. Charaxes jasius occurs in the Mediterranean region and Africa.

The purple emperor (Apatura iris) is a Eurasian butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. Apatura iris is widely distributed in dense, broadleaved woodlands throughout Central Europe including southern Britain, and in suitably temperate parts of Asia, including central and western China.
