Hagenbeck Too, tiger cubs and a new lens - a pool of water didn't clean
Hi everybody,
about three weeks ago I gifted myself with a "new" used lens - a 300 mm
f/4 image stabilized Canon lens with the "L" optics that is of better
quality than the glass used for the consumer lenses. The 300/4 is one of
Canon's best lenses at a payable price, and the image stabilizer is said
to multiply usable shutter times by about the factor five.
Last weekend the usual clouds were finally interrupted by some four
hours of sun, so I went to Hagenbeck Zoo for some testing shots.
Fortunately, the four tiger cubs born in May 2000 were still there, and
in the outside enclosure at that, with their dad and mom. Here is one of
them, taken with the 300/4, after a refreshing but apparently not too
cleaning bath in the pond. More to come eventually - I took a lot of
shots of the little ones as they're expected to be given to other zoos
in 2001, so I had (and have) to hurry a bit to get some pictures of them.
See ya -
Ralf
