| This one was trying to stare me and the camera down.  I don't know what kind
 it is, but I'm guessing it's some kind of wading bird.  It was very small,
 maybe less than 10" tall.

 Nice shot! I'm sure it's some sort of Thick-Knee or Stone Curlew. My
 reference book says there are 9 species, but I believe they all look rather
 similar - so I've no idea which it is.
