Timber Rattlesnake

During most of the year Timber Rattlesnakes are spread out over the country side hunting rodents, birds, frogs and lizards. In the winter, however, they congregate with up to 100 other rattlesnakes in large dens along rocky ledges and in woods with southern exposures. In the spring they exit their dens en masse to sun themselves and eat hikers. Okay, not really. But if I were you, I'd stay away from groups of poisonous snakes that number in the 100's.
