A beautiful picture, but this is not a lynx. It is a bobcat.
A lynx has long tufts on its ears, an inch long or longer.
A lynx is not spotted, they are more striped and mottled.
A lynx has really long face ruffs, from their cheeks. The
real give away here is the tail, the lynx tail tip is black
all the way around, like it was dipped in paint. A bobcat's
tail is only black on top. Also the length of the tail,
lynx' tail is about half this long. I own a Canadian Lynx,
and have studied both of these cats, the lynx and the bobcat.
Both very beautiful animals, but really not at all alike.
The lynx is much larger and has a longer and more dense coat.

The bobcat (Lynx rufus) is a North American cat that ranges from southern Canada to central Mexico, including most of the contiguous United States. The bobcat is an adaptable predator that inhabits wooded areas, as well as semidesert, urban edge, forest edge, and swampland environments.
