They are in South Florida. We seem to have a large population of
parrots and parakeets, feral of course. As a matter of fact, the book
"Florida's Birds" by Herbert Kale and David Maehr lists 15 different
species living south of Palm Beach. Then we have turtle doves,
Eurasian Collared doves, mynas (never seen one) and a whole mess of
others. I guess good climate, lots of food and lack of natural
predators does the trick. These parakeets are the only ones that come
to my feeders but I have seen Amazon-species parrots, cockatiels and
lovebirds around.
