The Tatra marmot (Marmota marmota latirostris Kratochvíl, 1961) is an endemic subspecies of the Alpine marmot, Marmota marmota (Linnaeus, 1758), a monogamous species widespread in the Pyrenees, Alps, and Carpathians. The Tatra marmot is restricted to small mountain regions in the Western Carpathian Mountains of Slovakia.
