Umbonia spinosa is a species of Membracidae (also known as Treehoppers) native to South America. Umbonia spinosa can be distinguished from other members of its genus by the appearance of its dorsal horn. Its dorsal horn pronotum is located between or just behind its humerais and they possess a short metopidium.
