The lesser goldfinch (Spinus psaltria) is a small songbird of the Americas. It may be the smallest true finch in the world. The lesser goldfinches range from the southwestern United States to Venezuela and Peru.
The house finch (Haemorhous mexicanus) is a bird in the finch family Fringillidae. It is native to western North America, and has been introduced to the eastern half of the continent and Hawaii.
