Brightly colored underbelly
ONE OF THE LARGEST lizards found in Australia, Gould's monitor is an active predator, and can cover long distances in search of its prey. If often rears up on its hind legs, using powerful tail to support its body. By doing this, it can see over tall grass and other vegetation.
