Garfish, marine needlefish found in all tropical and temperate waters, also in bays and coastal rivers. Its long silvery body has a dark green or blue-black stripe; the jaws are elongated and pointed, with sharp teeth. The flesh is edible. Length: to 1.2m. Family Belonidae; species Belone belone. |
