The Northern Guatemalan milksnake (L.t.polyzona) is also called the Veracruz milksnake and Atlantic Central American milksnake. This is a lowland subspecies that occurs from along the Atlantic coast in Veracruz and Tabasco, into the northern lowlands of Guatemala and Belize. This is a female that was captively produced in 2005 from offspring of an original trio of adults imported back in 1984. This subspecies becomes bicolored red and black as an adult and has been consistently misidentified in the hobby as L.t.abnorma.
