Callionima parce (Parce sphinx moth) is a species of moth in the family Sphingidae, which is known from Argentina, Venezuela, Suriname, French Guiana, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru to Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico to southern Florida, southern Texas, southern Arizona and southern California. It was originally described by Johann Christian Fabricius in 1775.
Attacus atlas (Atlas moth) is a large saturniid moth found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, and is common across the Malay archipelago. Atlas moths' wingspans are among the largest in the world, reaching over 25 cm. Females are appreciably larger and heavier than the males.
Curoba is a genus of moths in the family Arctiidae. It contains the single species Curoba sangarida, which is found in southern India and Sri Lanka.
Melanchroia chephise, the white-tipped black or snowbush spanworm, is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found from Florida and Texas, south to Paraguay. Strays have been recorded from Arizona, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Illinois.
The buff ermine (Spilarctia luteum) is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is sometimes placed in the genus Spilosoma. It is found throughout the temperate belt of the Palearctic region south to northern Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, southern Siberia (excluding Buryatia), Eastern Mongolia, Amur Region, China, Korea and Japan. |
