Bearded worm goby (Taenioides cirratus) is a species of worm goby native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean from islands offshore of eastern Africa to New Caledonia and from Japan to Australia. This species can be found in estuaries and coastal waters, preferring areas with mud substrates feeding on small crustaceans as well as other invertebrates. It is capable of surviving in air for a considerable period by sucking air into its bronchial chambers. This species can reach a length of 30 centimetres (12 in) TL. Order: Perciformes, Family: Gobiidae. |
