The European eel, Anguilla anguilla, is one of 19 species in their genus, found in the Northern Atlantic south to Mauritius, the Mediterranean, North and Baltic Seas and the rivers that feed into these ocean bodies.
The Mediterranean moray or Roman eel (Muraena helena) is a fish of the moray eel family. It has a long eel-like body and is found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. Its bite can be dangerous to humans.
The brown moray eel (Gymnothorax unicolor) is a moray eel found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It was first named by Delaroche in 1809. |
