The largehead hairtail is a long slender fish present throughout tropical and temperate salt and brackish waters of the world. This fish generally lives over muddy bottoms of shallow coastal waters and has a long, eel-like body and a short dorsal fin that extends the length of the back.
Largehead hairtails can grow up to be up to 1.2 m long. They live in schools and feed mainly on prawns and small fish.
The largehead hairtail is often used as a food fish. |
