The Northern Bushy-tailed Jird (Sekeetamys calurus calurus) is a subspecies of a unique gerbil in the Gerbillinae subfamily. The genus Sekeetamys contains only one species. This species is found in Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, the calurus subspecies is found in the northern part of the distribution, i.e. Israel and Jordan.
