The Long-tailed Metalmark, Sword-tailed Doctor, or Arcius Swordtail (Rhetus arcius) is a species of Neotropical metalmark butterfly of the family Riodinidae. Rhetus arcius is found from Mexico to Peru.
5, 6. Diorina laonome = Rhetus periander (Periander metalmark)
Rhetus periander, the Periander metalmark or variable beautymark, is a butterfly of the family Riodinidae. It is found in most of Central America and South America, ranging from Mexico to Brazil and Argentina. Rhetus periander is usually found singly or in very low numbers, in the vicinity of streams or rivers. It can be also be found along tracks through primary or disturbed rainforest or cloudforest habitats.
7, 8. Zeonia morissei = Chorinea licursis
Chorinea licursis is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Riodinidae. These butterflies are quite variable with respect to the size of the transparent region and of spots on the hindwings. They have transparent wings outlined with black and long tails on the hindwings. Forewings and hindwings are crossed by black veins and by two black transverse bands. Chorinea licursis can be found in the forests of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). |
