^o^| Description
The Black Turnstone, Arenaria melanocephala, breeds along the coasts of Alaska and spends winters along the west coast of North America, a range much smaller than its Ruddy Turnstone cousin. In Alternate or "breeding" plumage it develops some white feathering to add interest to the face.
