Ostrich, largest living bird, found in central Africa. It is flightless and has a small, flat, down-covered head and long neck. Plumage is black and white in males, brown and white in females. The female scoops a hole in the sand for 10-12 large yellow eggs, which are incubated by her during the day and by the male at night. Height: to 2.5m; weight: to 155kg.
