A. Papilio eurilochus = Caligo eurilochus (forest giant owl)
Caligo eurilochus, the forest giant owl, is an owl butterfly (tribe Brassolini of nymphalid subfamily Morphinae) ranging from Mexico, through Central America, to the Amazon River basin in South America. It is a very large butterfly, among the largest in its family, with a wingspan up to 17 centimetres.
B, C. Papilio egeria = Heliconius egeria (egeria longwing)
Heliconius egeria (egeria longwing) is a moth in the family Nymphalidae and subfamily Heliconiinae. It is a large butterfly with elongated and rounded wings of brown and orange-red color. The forewings have an orange-red basal part and the rest brown with a central group of pale yellow spots that respect the brown apex. The hindwings are brown with an orange-red basal part from which short orange-red lines start. Heliconius egeria is found in Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela and Brazil. |
