Finsch's euphonia in Suriname
Finsch's euphonia in Suriname
Photo of a Finsch's Euphonia in a cage, made by J. Ingels,
Belgium. This Euphonia is rather uncommon in the whole of
Suriname, you will find them mostly when and where there are
berries available for them in trees and shrubs. They have a clear
whistle
(dee,dee, dee here)
that you hear when they sing from twigs higher up.
This species has a restricted range, confined as it is to the
Guiana shield (the Guianas, and adjacent parts of Venezuela and
Brazil). This is another
song from
Finsch's euphonia
, also taped by Otte Ottema at Belwaarde,
with also a Boat-billed flycatcher screaming (hya, hya, hya).
