The bharal or Himalayan blue sheep or naur (Pseudois nayaur) is a caprid found in the high Himalayas of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and Pakistan.

바랄 [bharal, Rseudois nayaur]
소목 소과의 동물. 몸길이 130∼200㎝, 몸높이 약 80㎝, 꼬리길이 13∼20㎝, 몸무게 55∼73㎏. 털빛이 청회색이어서 blue sheep라고도 한다. 뿔은 암수 모두 있는데, 표면은 매끄럽고 끝이 희며, 뒤쪽으로 휘고 큰 것은 82㎝까지 자란다. 3600∼5000m의 고지에 서식한다. 여름에는 10∼50마리의 무리를 지어 생활하는데 때로 200마리를 넘는 경우도 있다. 이 무리는 9월부터 적어져 1마리의 수컷과 약간의 암컷으로 하렘이 형성된다. 교미기는 9월이고 다음해 봄에 2마리의 새끼를 낳는다. 수명은 20년이다. 티베트·히말라야지방·몽골·중국 등지에 분포한다. |
