The spotted ray, also known as Montagu’s ray, is a small species of skate found in shallow coastal waters. It is easily recognizable by its diamond-shaped body and eye-catching pattern of dark spots scattered across its pale, sandy-coloured upper side. These markings provide excellent camouflage, helping the ray blend seamlessly with the seabed. |
