Latham's Snipe

Habitat: Migrating here in Spring from Japan, these birds inhabit wetlands, swamps, and estuary edges from Cape York to Tasmania. They feed on worms, seeds and small aquatic life forms.
Notes: Brown bird with long bill, dark eye stripe and cheek stripe. Long greenish legs Breeds in Japan.
