A large collection of tortoises from my holiday
to Thraci=EB (North-West of Greece).
Species can be both Hermann's Tortoise (Testudo hermanni)
and Spur-thighed Tortoise (Testudo graeca),=20
which are both common in the area.
I have not identified them yet.
This may not always be possible
because the easiest differentiating feature
is in the scales over the tail and I preferred=20
to get shots of the head and not the back end.
There is also a picture of a dog that was
fiercely barking at a big tortoise.=20
I can hardly imagine that the dog considered
the tortoise dangerous but have not
other explanation. The last is my friend standing
in front of a rather small tortoise I nearly run
over on a biking trip in the Nestos Delta.
