Please can anyone identify this spider it was taken at Yangon airp[ort in Burma the web is strange as it has spring like fronds .
I would love to know what it is as we were standing very close to it before we noticed it above our heads lol..

My best guess is the Far Eastern black-and-yellow garden spider - Argiope amoena (Koch, 1878), which is a kind of orb-weaver spiders.

Another possiblity is Multi-Coloured St Andrew's Cross Spider, Argiope versicolor (Doleschall, 1859). If your spider is about a quarter of an inch, Argiope versicolor may be right. Otherwise, if it is about an inch long, it might be an Argiope amoena. |

thanks you have helped a lot and thanks for the links i will go and look them up. thing is my spider looks like the Argiop group only it didnt have coulourful markings on it just brown. but im sure this is the group it belongs to
