Hornet Vs Mantis
I was out on my bike when I got this shot. Luckily I was out to shoot some insects, so I had a macro lens on me. I watched as the hornet chewed through the mantis's neck and flew off with the head! --- by www.kasei.co.uk

| i seen what i think is a hornet but not sure the species. i live in southeastern va the hornet is about 2 in length as big around as a number 1 pencil ( the big fat ones) half its body is dark orange and the other half with the stinger is black and white striped. i have seen these here my whole life and never known what species it was |
