Coolscan and old negatives, another example - Lioness in Hagenbeck Zoo
Hi once more,
one thing the Nikon Coolscan always amazes me with is its ability to get
old negatives with significant loss of dye back to usability. Here is a
splendid example of what I mean - this pretty kitty was taken about 10
years ago and the negative suffers from considerable color loss. Of
course, some post-scan processing had to be done but the result seen
here would have been absolutely inachievable with a scan from a paper
print. Besides, this is a crop of just one quarter of a negative, and
even that had to be downsized to the format presented here.
Stay tuned for more -
Ralf
