The african folklore is that when the hippo asked for big teeth, God said he
already had enough predators. The hippo promised to show God he wasn't
eating any meat, and to fling his dung about to show there are no bones.
I have a whole page of these in the photo album, and they never fail to make
*me* yawn, no matter the time of day.
