아리엘왕부리 영명: Ariel toucan 학명: Ramphastos ariel [분류] 딱다구리목(Piciformes) 왕부리과(Ramphastidae) 큰왕부리속(Ramphastos)에 딸린 남아메리카산 큰부리새의 하나. 비교적 소형의 검은 왕부리로 몸무게는 350 ~ 400g 정도이다. 부리를 포함한 몸길이는 38cm이고, 부리는 10 ~ 15cm이다. 털색은 화려해서 가슴은 주황색이며 배는 빨간색, 눈은 밝은 푸른색, 눈주위의 살은 붉은색을 띤다. 아리엘왕부리는 아마존강 남쪽의 브라질에서만 서식하며, 이 곳에서는 흔하게 볼 수 있다. 브라질의 동물원에서 가장 흔하게 볼 수 있는 새라고 한다.
