Dusky antbird in Suriname
Dusky antbird
Photo of a female Dusky antbird made by KD Dijkstra between
Apura and Matapi in Suriname in November 2007. The male is
totally grey. Note the light lower mandible of this female or
young bird. It is a very common antbird species in places with
dense tickets in the forest, where sunlight can come to the
ground. The
sound of the dusky
antbird
was taped by Otte Ottema.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one
(group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations
on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of
each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna
and red for rainforest.
