The Barbary Falcon Falco pelegrinoides is a resident breeder of the Canary islands and North African coasts. In good light conditions, it is easily distinguished from the slightly larger Peregrine by the rufous-coloured nape.
On Lanzarote, its population is estimated at ca. 20 breeding pairs. Population size is considered stable or even slightly increasing.
