Smooth otter (Lutrogale perspicillata)
The smooth otter is an otter species occuring in most of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, with a disjunct population in Iraq. As its name indicates, the fur of this species is smoother and shorter than that of other otter species. Their eyes and ears are small, the tail is flattened, limbs are short, strong and the fore and hind paws are large and well webbed. |
